How To Unlock Disabled Iphone Or Ipad: 4 Best Ways (ios 16)

If your iPad says it’s disabled, it means you’re completely locked out. At this point, the only way to reactivate the iPad is to either wait (assuming you’ve been timed out) or use your computer to reset the iPad. And if you don’t know your passcode, the only option is to reset your iPad.

The exact steps to restore your iPad depend on what model of iPad you have and whether you have a Mac or a PC.

1. Turn off the iPad. You can do this on an iPad with a home button by pressing and holding the lock button on the top of the iPad, then sliding the slider that appears. On an iPad without a Home button, press and hold the lock button and one of the volume buttons, then slide the Power off slider.

3. If you’re on a PC, open iTunes and click the little iPad icon in the top left. If you’re using a Mac, open a Finder window and click the iPad name in the sidebar.

5. Leave your iPad connected and wait for your PC or Mac to restore the device. Depending on your computer and internet speed, this may take a few minutes.

6. Once done, your iPad should restart automatically. At this point it should behave as if you were setting it up for the first time. Go through the steps to set it up and if you have a backup stored in iCloud, use it to restore your data.

Alternatively, you can open Find iCloud on the website, select your iPad, and click Erase. As long as your iPad is connected to the internet, this should erase everything on it – including the passcode.

If you lock your iPad with a passcode (and you should for your privacy and security), you can rest assured that it’s very secure.

However, if you can’t remember your passcode—or you’ve entered it incorrectly so many times that your iPad is disabled and won’t accept the passcode—you can still unlock it.

Unfortunately, you will need to factory reset your iPad in the process. You can then replace the data from a recent backup. Here’s how to do it.

If you have a recent backup, you can restore your iPad using the Finder or iTunes. This will erase all data along with your passcode, allowing you to unlock the iPad and then replace the data from the backup.
