How To Block Texts On Android
If your phone is running Android Kitkat or newer, your default messaging app should have a spam filter. This is the easiest and fastest way to block text messages without the hassle of checking third-party apps or services.
How To Block Text Messages On Samsung
The process is quite simple, just tap and hold the sender’s text message and after a short delay you will be given the option to delete the message or add it to spam. You will see two options in the menu, or an option icon will be displayed at the top of the screen (depending on the device). Tap “Add to Spam” and confirm the prompt to blacklist the sender’s number so that you will no longer receive messages from them.
But if you need more control and blocking power, there are also built-in options.
To access these options, tap the menu (three vertical dots) at the top right corner of the screen and tap Settings from there.

Although the free version works well for text blocking, but if you are not a fan of ads or looking for some additional features, you can opt for the paid version.
Note: This is a messaging app and will replace the default messaging app if you are using Android Kitkat or higher. With the launch of Kitkat, only one messaging app is allowed to be open at a time. If you decide to use this app, your default messaging app won’t work. However, you can always open the default messaging app and tap “OK” to set it as Default again from the prompt.

To get started, open the app and tap “Yes” from the prompt to make the app your default messaging app. Now you will see all the messages in the SMS Blocker app just like in the standard messaging app.
To add a number to the block list, tap Menu at the top left corner of the screen and tap “Block list” from there. In the block list, there will be three ways to control text blocks: From, Series and Word. You can navigate through the options by tapping or swiping left or right.
This option allows you to add a number that should be added to the block list to prevent texting. You can just tap on the “+” icon and choose an input method to add the number to the block list.
With this option, you can add specific numbers or common words to the sender’s name or number. When you can add “1800” to the block list and the number with “1800” in it will be blocked when the message is received.
